Antique Shaker Rocker, Mount Lebanon

 

 

Mount Lebanon, New York Shaker rocker No.3. Stamped "No. 3" on back of top slat. Maple with splint seat. Excellent condition. Authenticated by Shaker expert Robert Wilkins. 34-1/2" tall by 19-1/2" wide, 15" seat height. $425.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

E. Howard & Co. No. 5 Banjo Clock

A fine example of the E. Howard & Co., Boston, Mass, No. 5 Banjo Clock, Ca. 1870.  Wonderful original painted dial with script logo and moon hands.  Correct damascened pendulum bob. Original black, gold, and maroon reverse-painted glasses. Mahogany case with rosewood grain painting.  Board behind pendulum appears to be replaced. Has original throat board. Recently cleaned and serviced. 29 inches tall, 12 inches wide, 8-inch dial. Currently keeping excellent time A classic piece of horology. $3,900.

 

 

 

  

Seth Thomas 12-Inch Short Drop Octagon Clock

Seth Thomas 12-inch short drop octagon or "school house" clock. Rosewood case. 8-day time-only movement, recently cleaned and serviced. Original painted metal dial with a few paint touch-ups (dark area on dial in photograph is actually reflection in glass). Date stamped 1890 on back board. Simon Willard Lighthouse Clock, Ca. 1820

This is an exact reproduction of Simon Willard's famous Patented Alarm Timepiece, now known as Lighthouse Clocks. The eight-day passing strike movement is by David Lindow. As in the period, this clock is a masterful collaboration of cabinetmaker, clockmaker, glass blower, decorative painter, and gilder. It stands 29 inches tall. $12,000.
